TYs coming to an end...

I'm just after printing off my last project of the year ! The relief is great haha, I have to say though I really enjoyed doing some of the projects throughout the year.
Now all eyes are on TY night. We've been practising our zumba and charleston dances, our TY song 'Seasons of Love', we've been getting each class stand ready for the big night and for irish we recorded our orals which for me went terrible..
All tests are finished Friday wooo ! I didn't really expect as many tests as there is but there not too bad :)
Once there over I'd say It'll be practice practice practice for the Monday of TY night.
I'll keep you updated on how the night goes..

Swim a Mile with a Smile :)

Last Friday we went to the National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown for the Ian Daly Swim a Mile. I was part of a group of 6 and we'd planned to swim a mile between us. We got our first mile finished in about 10 minutes and so decided as a group we should do another and so we did. We then finished that one even faster and decided we should do another two. Between each Mile we'd to let others have a go so we didnt have enough time to do a mile which I regret not doing from the start ! But awell next year maybe :)Afterwards we went to Blanchardstown Shopping centre and got time to eat and shop if we liked. It was a really great day, so much fun :)

Drama - Tich Miller, Macroom Cork !

On Saturday, 3rd of March, Our drama group travelled to Cork to take part in the Briery Gap competition with our drama Tich Miller by Wendy Pope. We left for Cork at 10am and got there for 2pm. The journey was long but I slept most of the way so it went fast and was great haha :)

We were ready to go and preform our play at 3, everyone was a bit nervous but I don't think they showed and our play was fun fun fun !

The day was really enjoyable, we didn't win but it was a great day with the group !

Work Experience

All last week we had our second work experience. I went to the Glenroyal and worked in the bar and bistro. The week wasn't as good as I thought it would be. During the week I cleaned, cleared tables, polished cutlery, made drinks, brought out food to tables and one of the days hoovered and dusted for the day in housekeeping. Our breaks were short and at random times, but at anytime we could get a drink from the bar :) I was working with Aoife and we had our chats whilst doing our work so this made the week a lot better haha. The manager was lovely but we hardly seen him over the whole week as he was busy in his office, so we were left with the rest of the staff and assistant manager. Most of the staff were really helpful and showed us around the place however it was as if some staff had thought we'd worked there for a while and knew were everything was.I wouldn't recommend this for work experience unless your intrested in running a hotel but its not for me!The manager was lovely but we hardly seen him over the whole week as he was busy in his office, so we were left with the rest of the staff and assistant manager. Visit to Kildare

On Tuesday we went to Kildare to do a pilgrimage. It first started by watching a dvd of the history of Kildare town and St. Brigid. We went to the cathedral, it was freezing , we saw the stain glass windows dipicting the storys of St.Brigid and St.Patrick , the round tower, Brigids kitchen and the fire which was lit for 6000 years until destroyed by Cromwell .Next we visited the two wells from St Brigid and made a wish and prayed . It was a long day but inresting.

St Brigid

Today's St Brigids day !

We don't celebrate the day as much as we did in our primary school but that's obvious because our primary school was St Brigids.
Next week we are going to St.Brigids well in Kildare. For the last two weeks our class have been working on getting the prayer room ready for St. Brigids day. The class divided into separate groups ; the designers, music, art and history group. I was part of the designers. We organised what materials we would need, the well, the animals, and the tree with the brath Brides.
I will write to you again telling you how the day goes .

L-U-S-E-R

After I published my last post our group yet again changed our idea ! It was definitely for the better. This time we chose to do a play based on the poem Titch Miller. Titch was a girl who got bullied because of her appearance and in the end the bullying gets so bad she commits suicide. Vicky played the role of Titch very well. Tubby was another child who gets bullied. I thought I was gonna make a fool of myself cause the lines we ( the hockey players) had to say were quite cringey! But it was grand in the end. I was the hockey player who couldn't spell which led to my friends leaving me for Tubby who finally learned in his new school to get his own back on bullys. The drama went well and we'll hear soon if any groups from our school were successful :)
